DHI Hair Transplant

Application of DHI Method

In order to better understand how the DHI method is applied, let's briefly touch on the stages of hair transplantation.

Hair transplantation consists of 3 stages;

1. Collection of grafts,
2. Opening of micro channels,
3. Transplantation of hair follicles.

Unlike other methods, in DHI technique, opening micro channels and transplanting grafts are performed simultaneously.

After the hair follicles collected in a hair transplant operation performed with the Choi implanter pen are separated from the tissue pieces, they are placed into the pen one by one. This placement should be done very carefully and carefully. In this way, it is ensured that the most natural results from hair transplantation are obtained.

Hair follicles are planted at an angle of 40-45 degrees, which is the most suitable angle. Apart from this angle, another important point is the correct direction, and this is done in accordance with the direction of the previous hair. Sowing is performed by pushing the hair follicles placed in the Choi needle at the right angle and direction with the needle. In the meantime, the existing hair is preserved. In the operation, between 2 and 6 Choi pens and an average of 15-16 sharp Choi tips are used. The tips of these pens can be of different sizes. The factor that determines this is the person's hair root and thickness structure.

The DHI (Choi) hair transplant method naturally has several advantages and disadvantages over the FUE method.

Advantages:

• Having hair in the area to be transplanted is less of a problem in the DHI technique. Therefore, in areas where the hair is not completely shed, it is possible to transplant more easily between the hairs.
• A faster recovery can be seen after the operation, so the patient can easily return to his daily routine in a short time.
• The DHI method allows the hair to be transplanted without shaving. It allows more intensive hair transplantation to be performed in hair transplantation operations performed in narrow areas.

Disadvantages:

• In order to use this technique well and to specialize, both the doctor and his team need to go through a very long training process.
• It can be said that it is generally a more expensive method when compared to other hair transplantation methods.
• Since it is a very sensitive procedure, the doctor who will perform the transplant should be careful and in high condition.
• Planting in a hairy area means that this planting area is very narrow and if the transplanter does not have enough experience, Choi may damage the tips and other hair follicles while working in this narrow area.

Is Everyone Suitable for DHI/Choi Hair Transplantation?

This method, which can only be applied to people with straight and thick hair with the Choi pen, which was first developed, has been produced to be suitable for more general hair types with the improvement studies carried out over time. The implanter pen used today has a wide thickness structure between 0.64 mm and 1.0 mm.
