The shape of the arms is an important problem, especially in people who lose or gain a lot of weight. The main common request of patients is that the arms are not saggy, and the arms do not look bad. Local and general anesthesia are performed in arm lift surgeries. This surgery is performed under hospital conditions. The operation is completed between 1.5 and 2 hours. People who use local anesthesia in arm lift surgery can be discharged from the hospital on the same day. People who have surgery under general anesthesia may normally need to stay in the hospital overnight.

There are situations that patients should pay attention to after arm lift surgery:

• The arms should not be touched with water for two days after the operation.
• Special arm corsets or elastic bandages should be used on the postoperative days.
• The arms should be kept above the level of the heart.
• The surgical incision is closed with closed aesthetic sutures. These stitches do not need to be removed.
• After the surgery, sports activities should be started 4 or 6 weeks later.

The scars left on the arms after the surgery are not the same in every patient. These scars are more prominent in some patients. For this reason, the arm movements of the patient should be limited for a while to prevent the enlargement of the scars after the surgery.
