Risk and Complications

Face and neck lift surgeries may have some risks and complications. Some of these can be managed with appropriate care, medication, or surgical correction. Although long-term or permanent complications are rare, they can cause significant changes in appearance. The risks of face and neck lift surgeries can be listed as follows:

• Hematoma: It is the most common complication in facelift surgery. It causes swelling and is a collection of blood under the skin. When it occurs, the accumulated blood is immediately surgically drained and the bleeding focus is treated to prevent damage to the skin and other tissues.
• Scar: Scars from face and neck lift surgery are permanent but are typically hidden by the hairline and natural contours of the face and ear.
• Nerve Damage: This operation can affect the nerves temporarily or permanently.
• In addition, as in all other surgical operations, there is a risk of bleeding, infection, and complications related to anesthesia.
